Prop Making covers images and descriptions of props and prop making skills including carpentry, puppets, puppet making, sculpting, wire work and mask making.

Scenic Art

Scenic Art and Painting includes small scale and large scale painting of theatre sets and furniture covering all faux finishes and scenic art effects, floorcloths, dance floor, back drops and other painting.

Casting

Casting images and descriptions, using clay or polystyrene, moulds taken in latex, silicone or resin, full body casts and face casting.

Soft Props

Soft Props images and descriptions covering fabric props, upholstery, costume making, hat making, puppets and foam props.

Theatre Prop Maker is run by Beckie May, a degree trained propmaker and scenic artist based in North Yorkshire, with 17 years of theatre and television experience. Specialist skills as a prop maker include puppets, soft props, upholstery, latex work, wooden structures, polystyrene carving, plasters, silicone and resins. As a trained designer she can also offer scale models and technical drawings. As a scenic artist Beckie is accomplished with floor cloths, backcloths, sets and furniture alike, using all the usual skills such as faux finishes, wood graining, rusting, ageing, marbling, textured work as well as replicating more complicated geometric designs or patterns.
